moving in

So since my last update I found sumwhere to live!!!
YAY

and I moved in TODAY yay!!!
its pretty great, its good to be free of the hotel and its good to have all my shit unpacked!!!!!

I should probably elaborate but nothing too exciting has happened
moving in was a bitch with the 2 cases but Justine helped me
i unpacked all my shit and now i'm gonna go out wit erik coz he leaves 2morro

oh yeah me and \justine went out last night as well
so its all party party for me lol

starting!

I started work yesterday. And by that I mean I did a 5 hour training course on health and safety woo fun. They really like disabled ppl here.. but I think its just coz they have really good anti discrimination laws and not coz they actually care

After that I then got my uniform (pink and grey oh god ew) and then got a tour of the hotel and the different rooms we have. Wasnt bad. Coz they days wasnt meant to go like that i had to do a shitload of paperwork at home!! But I skipped that and went and bought myself a nice new phone.... 78 pounds.... which is only $166 so not bad considering its actually nice!!! and when I get a bank account i'm goin on a 20 pound a month plan which will give me unlimited internet access on my phone so msn me wooooooo ( well when that happens)

After my exciting phone adventures I went for a walk to get the bus to visit Justine (fellow VU student) in Hackney, which is supposedly dodgy bvut i thought it seemed quite nice.

We looked for houses for me online and i went to see 2 of these over the past 2 days. TYhe first was around the corner from justine's so we went to see and it was a total steal for the price they were charging. Like sooooo homey!!!! lovely lovely place, but its nto available til March, oops misread the net!!

the one i looked at today was in Mile End, which is half an hour from my work. The station seemed a tad bit dodgy, but walking to the house didnt seem bad and when I asked the hosuemates what it was like they said there's a primary school across the street. they were really nice and we got on great. So great I got a msg from the girl saying that I've probs got it but shes not meant to say until Thursday so woooo

that place has free international calls as well so total win!!
The room was pretty small tho but meh, small room for nice housemates and close to work is good enough for me!!!

My laptops about to die. I found this free wireless in a pub lol.

back to the hotel for me!!

day 2

Erik came to see me and we went to China town and I almost fell asleep
ce
but then it took hm forever to get home and so he slept in today

I went for a walk around the Tower of London an Tower Bridge.... there is nothing down there
and then I went to meet Erik in Tufnell park, where his friend (an aussie thats been here 3 years) took us to the worst place

Its called The Church.... and its the "Aussie, NZ, south african" place where they get trashed every Sunday afternoon??? It was dirty as.... like they sell u a 6 pack of beer in a bag? and there was strippers and yeah.... coz its australia day there were lots of ppl dressed up too.... in flags, oh god ewwww

it also had shit music

then we went to Camden town, which I loved and I bought a nice dress. It was 33 pounds reduced from 110 wooooo bargain

Then we went and ate cuban food mmmm and there was live music and it was nice.

Now I'm at Eriks appartment and its gonna take me like forever to get home where there will be no internet! ugh

The leaving day

So yesterday, technically 23/01/2009 i left Melbs at midnight,... or a bit after as the plane was delayed (first point of bad luck)

You would all be so proud of me I didn't cry... well I was teary, I didn't wanna leave, I still kind wish i didn't leave, seriously why am I doing this to myself!!

Anyways back to the plane, sat in a middle seat, next to people who didnt talk and a guy who kept bumping into me in his sleep. Food was average, which is probably the cause of my second piece of bad luck as I feel like my stomach is exploding! still. oh lordie

Anyways so we landed in Hong Kong and I had a bit of a walk around and used the net to get the address of teh hotel.... but I did forget to tell erik some information..... which turned extra bad in the end!

Anyways sat next to a really nice girl on teh flight to London we were all talky and she was nice. I had a good seat, like no seats in front of me, lots of leg room and aisle seat
OH YEAH AND THEY HAD THE NEW LIVE MUSE CD ON THE PLANE. win

but yeah flight dragged on a lot and I developed a cold so stomach and nose and feel like death!!!!!

arrived in London, and no Erik..... I waited for nearly 2 hours, feeling like shit and being scared as. I didnt have his number and I hadn't given him enough info on my flight.... I'm used to melb airport with only 1 internation terminal.... Heathrow has 4..... and I was gonna ask but I thought it was a stupid question.... I only learnt this all after I'd left

So I tried to get on the net at 3.30.... but erik hadn't contacted me.... and i paged a couple of times and then left at 4, after arriving out at 2

and my phone died and my parents were freakin out about me at 2am.... when I got to the hotel and charged my phone there were 7 msgs. i felt so bad, i love my parents

Then I went and got the Tube by myself.... I got to where I needed to change to the line my station is on AND THEY ARE DOING FUCKING WORKS ON THE TRACKS!!!
so i had to ask a stranger for help and he gave me some directions. which I followed.... but it left me at the wrong station....

so while on the train I asked some people if there were stairs.... and they said yes, then i asked how to get to pepys st and they were goin there so 3 american insurance men were my knights in shinning armor and carried my cases all teh way to the hotel!!!

Then when i arrived I couldn't open my door and once the guy from reception let me in I came in and had a breakdown.

Then I had to pay 18.99 pounds for 24 hours of internet and TV (thats like $40 sumthin) and I'm here now!!!

But I mostly needed it to try and get in touch wit Erik.... who when I called him WAS STILL AT THE AIRPORT!!

poor thing, he had been in the wrong terminal and they had told him I would be in customs for 3 hours.... so he's on his way here now!!

Thats up-to-date-me. Now, things I forgot to bring or my hotel room fails at:

- i brought an electric toothbrush,.... there are no powerpoints in the bathroom
-i brought no toothpaste
-there is no conditioner
-i forgot my international student discount card
- forgot my hairbrush
- i didn't bring all my friends
